Is there really a thing called freedom? How do we attain it?
Freedom, as defined by Webster, is the quality or state of being free, the absence of necessity, coercion or constraint of choice or action. It is the inexistence of slavery or restraint or from the power of another.
Freedom is a word where being objective is on question. There are places where people are given only a certain level of freedom. There is no such thing as absolute freedom. However, there could be inner freedom where people can fully express their thoughts publicly and be heard. But still, some don’t have that kind of freedom.
The main point is that the freedom depends on the beholder and what one person considers it.
Freedom is often synonymous to the term free will, which is related because it is the ability to make decisions on your own.
But how do we really know if we have a choice?
There is a theory called scientific determinism or what we usually call as fate. If determinism is real, then we really don't have any freedom because we are condemned by what we are supposed to do. We are condemned by what we need to do in order to maintain the balance of existence. It is always in conflict with freedom.
It may be cliché, but the truth does set us free. If there was any way to be free, it would be through living an unbounded and honest life. But in order to let the truth set us free, we must bind ourselves with that freedom. We must let the truth bind us. So the only thing we can do that is closest to becoming free is live in truth.

We are free to choose our freedom but we our condemned to the troubles beyond our choices.
